Our Boat
Our boat is a Bennington 2575 RFSi, which was imported from the United States especially for this use.  One reason for choosing her was because of the easy access, another was the completely open top.  Our guests never cease to be amazed at how different the park looks from on the water and how close to nature one feels in the boat.

The Americans call this type of boat a 'pontoon boat' because the very first ones were little more than a few large planks of wood attached to two aluminium tubes, or pontoons.  Folk would bring the sofa out of the house and sit it on the pontoon, stick a little outboard engine on the back and head off for a trip down the river - the pontoon boat becoming known as 'the floating sofa'.

They have come a long way since then and Bennington are the 'Rolls Royce' of pontoon boat makers.  Our boat will seat 12 adults in real comfort - plus the skipper.  Being open to the air offers a truly wonderful feeling of space and freedom, all in a safe and secure, quiet and luxurious setting.

If you charter the boat for a special occassion you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks on board, and to use the CD/mp3 player.
Wheelchair Accessible
Access to our boat is almost level with the jetty and so we can accommodate anyone in a standard wheelchair - up to two wheelchairs each trip - as well as people with mobility difficulties.  We are close to the Visitor Centre, and a sloped path provides a step-free route to our pontoon.  The final section can be a little more inclined, depending on the water level in the lake.  Please wait on the level area at the top of this section if you need help with the incline.
