Ferry Meadows Country Park
There is so much to see and do in Ferry Meadows Country Park that you can easily make it a whole day out for all the family. There's even a train station in the Park to take you into Peterborough city centre during the season (by steam locomotive if you are really lucky).
It's easy to turn a day visit into a short break: just bring your tent, caravan or boat - or stay in the on-site hotel. For more information just follow the links:

This site is operated by the Environment Agency and aims to list most of the attractions and things to do along the River Nene (and, incidentally, all the other rivers in the Anglian Region). A huge task and some information is still to be collated, but it's well worth a visit.

Find boat trips (public trips, charter or hire, holidays, sightseeing, wildlife watching,
fishing, diving, sailing, narrowboat, etc) with BoatDistrict.

Ferry Meadows is a great place for responsible dog owners: you can walk a different route every day of the month, and make it as long or as short as you want.
We have a particular interest in German Shepherd Dogs, and if you can offer a 'Forever Home', short term foster care, transport, time or money, GSD Rescue in Peterborough (who also cover Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk) would love to hear from you.
